Russia claims to destroy Ukrainian missile ship

Russia said today that its air force destroyed a Ukrainian Project 1241 missile ship near Odessa with a high-precision missile.

“Last night, the Russian Air Force destroyed a motorized brigade headquarters near Pyatikhatka in the Kharkov region and a communications station on the Chervonoglinskoye airstrip near the settlement of Artsyz,” said Major General Igor Konashenkov, Russian Air Force spokesman for the Russian ministry defense announced. “A Ukrainian Navy Project 1241 missile ship was also destroyed near Odessa.”

According to Konashenkov, Russian air defenses shot down two more Su-24 bombers and a Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopter overnight. Russian missile and artillery forces also removed two Ukrainian S-300 air defense systems in the Kharkov region.

“Russian missile and artillery forces removed 56 command posts, 32 artillery positions, 415 soldiers and combat vehicles and two S-300 air defense systems near the settlement of Korotykh in the Kharkov region,” he said.

Major General Konashenkov added that since the special military operation began, Russian forces have destroyed 156 Ukrainian aircraft, 116 helicopters, 765 drones, 2,927 tanks and other armored vehicles.

After more than 70 days of fighting, Russia is stepping up missile attacks on many areas across Ukraine in connection with the West’s arms race to Kyiv.

Eastern Ukraine remains the area of ​​the fiercest fighting. Russian forces organized attacks along the Donbass in an attempt to control more territory, while Ukraine continued to resist fiercely.
